La Crosse's Boutique Hotel

Castle La Crosse is one of the best examples of Grand 19th century residential architecture you will find in Wisconsin. It has been lovingly cared for by its owners for over the past 131 years and remains in remarkable original condition. Often called the Downton Abby of the area, updates have been done gently and correctly, with a lot of care. The massive stained glass windows and detailed woodwork are right where they have been since 1892 when Lumber Baron N.B. Holway built his Castle.

Luxurious Rooms

Our guest suites are all located on the second floor of the home, at the top of the romantic grand staircase. The suites are named for the exquisite woods used throughout the home or on the property. Enjoy our Oak Suite, Mahogany Suite, Maple Suite, Birch Suite and the Walnut Suite, one of the largest rooms in the Castle.

Decadent Breakfasts

A great start for your day, Chef Brandon prepares a fresh breakfast daily. We are committed to serving local farm-to-table ingredients and proudly support many area farms.

Breakfast is served buffet style in the large dining room and is always chef’s choice based on what is seasonally freshest. Hot coffee and beverages are available at 7:00 a.m., breakfast is served at 9:00 daily. With special arrangements, breakfast can be brought to your suite for a nominal fee. We do our best to honor dietary restrictions with advanced notice.

La Crosse, Wisconsin

Castle La Crosse is located in the charming historic district of this amazing rivertown. La Crosse is in Western Wisconsin, just a two or three hour drive from either Madison, WI, Milwaukee, WI, or Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Also nearby are several cities in Iowa & Illinois. The Great River Road follows both sides of the Mississippi River and is known on the Wisconsin side as one of the “Top Ten Most Beautiful Drives in the U.S.” The region is a favorite for Fall Foliage tours, wineries, biking and many other outdoor activities and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
